On 13 October 2018, over 200,000 people marched in the German capital Berlin to protest against xenophobia and the increasing influence of the far right on German politics and society.
The hashtag #unteilbar (#indivisible) was prominent on the march.

This is against the backdrop of rising support for the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. The AfD entered parliament for the first time in 2017, becoming Germany’s largest opposition party, and made a strong showing in elections in the southern state of Bavaria the day after the march.
