The promise of AI is that everyone gets superpowers. Intelligence, creativity, insight and opportunity, things that have always been scarce and unevenly shared, become available to anyone who asks.

It is a big promise, and parts of it are already true. Anyone can now write code, make images, translate languages or get expert advice in seconds. Abilities that once took years to learn, or money to buy, are arriving all at once.

This work takes that promise at its word and maps the technology it rests on: the models, the agents, the training, the infrastructure. Each one is a small step on its own. Together they add up to something nobody fully understands yet.

The question it leaves open is the one the promise skips: when everyone has a superpower, is it still a superpower, and who decides what it is used for?
