Headlines and a snapshot of what was going on inside my head on 19 April 2020
This piece is part of my new series that combines my love of mazes, my interest in Congolese textiles (known as Kuba textiles), and my daily habit of recording news headlines.
Kuba textiles are unique to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), and known for their elaborate and complex design and surface decoration. Most textiles are a variation on rectangular or square pieces of woven palm leaf fibre enhanced by geometric designs executed in linear embroidery and other stitches.
